Who is Lil Fade?
Coming out of Maryland but born in Atlanta, Paul Anthony Depina, or better known as Lil Fade, is the coldest new independent artist. While being only 18-years-old, he has his fans wondering why he hasn’t made it out yet.
Lil Fade continues to surprise his local fans with his unique voice and his infinite amount of flows, clearly making him a new prodigy/one of a kind artist, which we can all agree is what the game has been missing for quite some time now. Lil Fade single handedly records, produces and engineers his music all by himself. This really separates him from the majority of other artists.
Lil Fade has been in love with music every since his obsession with the legend, the king of pop himself, Michael Jackson. However, it wasn’t until Michael Jackson’s death that Lil Fade became a huge fan of him. Michael Jackson had the biggest influence on his music by far over any other artist, and Lil Fade gives him credit for who he is today.
The rapper hasn’t always had a love for being an artist though. Many don’t know this but Lil Fade once used to dance just like his idol, Michael Jackson. The young prodigy would attend and win talent shows, and many other events as a kid.
Lil Fade got into music by making beats at first, following his uncle’s footsteps. He would produce songs for his friends and people in his area. He was enjoying it so much that he thought he would strictly be a producer for the rest of his life. Never did he ever imagine himself being a rapper… until the Christmas of 2019 where he was gifted a microphone that changed his life.
Fast forward to 2022, Lil Fade just announced his upcoming project “Verde Season” coming this summer. The name “Verde” may mean green in languages such as French, but it’s deeper than that. The artist’s family/culture reveals to be ‘Cape Verdian’ or in other terms, Portuguese/black. Generations before Lil Fade was born, his family lived on the islands of Cape Verde, located in the central Atlantic Ocean. The one of a kind artist always wished to one day visit his true home and then to maybe permanently live there. The title “Verde Season” represents his family and the CVS (Cape Verdeans).
Lil Fade is definitely an artist to watch and as he continues to make a path and name for himself, we can all say that we were here early!
