Who is Giosue?
Giosue Salonia, better known by his first name Giosue, is a 37-year-old artist from Toronto, Ontario, who was born on September 24, 1985. He is a very versatile artist but is best known for making house, hip-hop, and experimental music.
Giosue has had a passion for music from a very early age but didn’t start making music until he was around the age of 20. He started making music because growing up he had always liked music and would enjoy listening to it. Music was one of the few things that always had a way of making Giosue feel happy. He finds himself at peace whenever he works on or listens to music. Giosue likes to use music as a way for him to express himself and share his thoughts and feelings.
Many different artists have inspired Giosue throughout this music career. However, one artist that really played a role in inspiring him to make hip-hop music was Drake. Even now, there are many artists that Giosue is really influenced by, and looks up to these artists in hopes of becoming as big as them one day. Giosue was also inspired by the genre Amapiano and different kinds of house music. Another thing that inspired Giosue was being in nature alone with his dog which gave him time to think and gather ideas. God also inspires Giosue every day to create good clean music for everyone of all ages and spread positive messages.
Other than making music, Giosue really enjoys hiking with his pooch named Samson, who he adores. In late 2019, Giosue was a victim of a domestic which landed his ex-girlfriend in handcuffs and left him with PTSD. Giosue’s pooch came into his life at such a crucial time when he needed something or someone to lean on. The day after it all happened was when he had to pick up his new dog from the breeder. “I believe that God sent him to me at such a perfect time, that it was quite unexplainable,” says Giosue. He also has many other passions like skateboarding, going to the beach, going on cruises, ice skating, snowshoeing, bowling, going to cottages, and star gazing. Giosue likes to do activities that give him peace and that take his mind away from negative things in life. In his free time, he sometimes likes to play video games and watch movies. Giosue is also a big foodie and loves going to picnics and barbeques.
In about five years, Giosue hopes to see himself as a very successful person accomplishing all of his goals and dreams. He sees himself somewhere abroad living either in a jungle somewhere deep within Costa Rica or somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario, away from the big cities, while working and doing music as well.
Giosue recently dropped his latest single called “What is Love?”, which came together like clockwork. According to him, it all came together naturally like puzzle pieces, because it can sometimes take him up to a year just to finish one song. Giosue finds the creative process in a song to be difficult at times since you can’t always control the amount of creativity you can work with. Sometimes you need a rest in that department for you to regain some inspiration and your creative flow back through your window. Giosue made “What is Love?” to talk about what love really is. In the song, he explains how everyone is looking for love, but most people spend their whole lives looking for it in the wrong places or just getting the wrong idea of love. It takes courage, hope, faith, and most of all, it takes selflessness, he shares. “My faith is really important to me and this song was inspired by God and his love for us,” says Giosue.
This is definitely an artist to watch and as he continues to make a path and name for himself, we can all say that we were here early!
