Who is Big LiT?
Emac Money, or better known as Big LiT, is an upcoming artist from Florida, United States, who is very versatile. He is best known for making dark trap music and hard hitting lo-fi beats with gangster trap lyrics.
Big LiT was born in Brooklyn, New York, but moved to Miami when he was only four. When he was fifteen, his mother relocated him from Miami to the Highlands County in Avon Park, Florida to keep him away from gangs and street activity.
Big LiT started making music to change the situation he was in and to get out of the streets. He was at a time in his life where he wasn’t sure if he would see his next birthday or be free for it. He was involved in a lot of beef, so in 2014, he started taking music seriously to make it out and escape. However, Big LiT ended up getting locked up in 2016–2017 and had a very rough five years in prison. After being released in September 2021, he immediately resumed his music career.
Many artists have helped inspire Big LiT to start making music throughout different times in his life. However, a particular artist who really inspired Big LiT was Jeezy and his album “Thug Motivation 101” who he would listen to regularly during his teenage years. Another artist who had a significant invluence on Big LiT’s drive was Biggie Smalls. When Big LiT was younger, he would spend the entire day listening to a cassette tape he had by him. There are more artists who have inspired Big LiT such as Piles and T.I., but they are more recent. He has a great deal of admiration for them though and wishes to achieve their level of success.
In about five years, Big LiT hopes to see himself as a very successful individual, accomplishing all of his goals and dreams. He hopes to have made lots of money from his music, and to have moved his mother out of public housing and his friends out of the projects. “My worst fear in life is letting my people down, that’s something I’m not equipped to do,” says Big LiT.
Big LiT’s main objective with his music is for his story to reach just one kid and persuade him to turn away from the gang and drug culture. Big LiT told us that if he can achieve this goal, he has accomplished what he was set out to do. He wants to show kids that being a gangster isn’t as cool as it may seem, and that’s something you only realize when you’re in a jail cell rotting away. “In this world, the one thing that you cannot replace is your time. You only get to spend it once, and since there is no turning back, it should be used wisely and for the right things. Taking this path will ruin your life and none of it will matter in the end,” says Big LiT.
Big LiT talks a lot about how the music industry is starving for a Hispanic artist who is a real gangster and talks from experience. “It lacks this so much to the point where everybody knew 6ix9ine was a fraud but would still listen to him just because he’s Hispanic. I’m telling y’all I’m next up and on the way to make a difference in the rap scene,” says Big LiT.
Big LiT only speaks from his true experiences and views on the world, which makes him a very authentic artist. He wants to be remembered as someone who is never going to sugarcoat stuff just to please the general census and other people. He wants to be known as someone who will always be true and honest no matter what. Even if his answer to a question offends, scares, hurts feelings, or starts problems, he will always tell the truth. “We need to make telling the truth cool again, then we can start fixing other problems,” says Big LiT.
An upcoming thirteen song album that Big LiT will soon be releasing is called “MONEY DONT SLEEP,” which is already finished and can drop at anytime. Along with this album, he plans on dropping another ten song self titled album, “Big LiT.” He plans on dropping both albums at the same time. Big Lit is also gearing up for 808 Kartel to release the five song EP which they both made while he was in LA, called “NO REFUNDS.” Big Lit is really making up for all the years he was struggling and couldn’t focus on his passion, and is putting the work in to become a well-known artist.
